Ukraine set to launch new version of «Grom» tactical missile systems

The  “Yuzhnoye State Design Office” multi-product machine-building company set to launch new «Grom-2» (Thunder-2) operational-tactical missile system. That was reported by press-service of the company.

The company has begun the process of developing a new military chassis to new «Grom» operational-tactical missile systems. The first prototype of the new chassis now develops at Pivdenmash in Dnipro.

Now Saudi Arabia is discussing buying Ukrainian-made «Grom-2» tactical missile systems, according to the press service of the Pavlograd Chemical Plant.

Ukraine’s defense companies have received from Saudi Arabia around $40 million to develop the Grom tactical ballistic missile system.

Ukraine will perform the first test launch of a new tactical ballistic missile  in the second half of 2016. The maximum range of new Ukrainian multifunctional missile complex is 350 km for the export version and 500 km for the Ukraine army version. The minimum range is 50 km.
