The Ministry of Defense of  Paraguay  will consider  purchase an 100 Spanish VAMTAC ST5 high mobility tactical vehicles, that reported by infodefensa.com.
It should be noted that these vehicles are those used by the Spanish Army and have also been offered to Chile. According to the Paraguayan local press, the average cost of these vehicles varies between 95,000 and 350,000 US dollars.
The basic VAMTAC ST5 measures 4.84 m in length and 1.9 m in height with an overall track of 1.86 m and a gross vehicle weight (GVW) of 5,300 kg. It is in essence a facelifted S3 production model with exterior alterations such as a new front bumper and bonnet, and new lights.
The ST5 range also includes the optionally armoured ST5-HD, 2HD, and 3HD variants, which can vary in GWV from 6,000 kg to 9,500 kg and feature ballistic protection of up to STANAG 4569 Level 3.
The Spanish military has used the URO VAMTAC in Afghanistan, as well in Congo and Lebanon.  The VAMTAC ST5 is operated by the Armed Forces of Spain, Venezuela, Dominican Republic, Ghana, Malaysia, Morocco, Romania, Saudi Arabia, Singapore and Indonesia.
