Polish MiG-29 fighter jet crashed near Minsk Mazowiecki

The MiG-29 fighter jet of Polish Air Forces crashed about 15 km from Minsk Mazowiecki.

The Mig-29 military aircraft was to land at the Tactical Air Base but disappeared from the radar. The search for the aircraft lasted a few minutes after 7 o’clock. About 19:30 pm – according to local information – a burning wreck of the plane was found.

The pilot of the fighter jet survived, is now taken to the hospital.

The twin-engine fighter was conducting a training sortie from 23rd Tactical Air Base.

The MiG-29 fighter jet, such as the one from the Tactical Aviation Base in Mińsk Mazowiecki, is being renovated at Wojskowe Zakłady Lotnicze No. 2 S.A. in Bydgoszcz.

The Polish Air Force still operates some Russian equipment, including the MiG-29 fighter jets.
