China offers AR3 multiple artillery rocket system to Peru

The China North Industries Corporation, officially abbreviated as Norinco, has offered its AR3 multiple artillery rocket system to Peruvian Armed Forces.

At SITDEF international defense technology exhibition in Peru, the model of AR3 multiple artillery rocket system was shown by Peruvian officials. The AR3 is a Chinese artillery rocket system, developed specially for export.

The main mission for this artillery rocket system is to engage remote strategic targets, such as airfields, command centers, support facilities, air defense batteries, large concentrations of troops and so on. The AR3 is capable of launching conventional rockets, as well as guided missiles.

It is a multi-caliber rocket system. It is fitted with two pods with four launcher tubes for 370-mm rockets each, or five launcher tubes for 300-mm rockets.

Previously, the Peruvian Armed Forces ordered the batch of Chinese Type 90B multiple rocket launcher systems. Peruvian army selects Chinese Type 90B 122mm MLRS Launch Rocket System to replace BM-21.
