The Austrian Armed Forces have taken delivery of first advanced BvS10 Mk IIB AUT all-terrain articulated armoured vehicle, said in the report of the Austrian MoD.
The first all-terrain vehicles BvS10 produced by BAE Systems Land Systems Hägglunds, which were procured in 2016, are to be handed over to the soldiers of the mountain troops and the Pioneer Battalion 2 already in late 2018 and 2019.
The BvS10 Mk IIB AUT or also named BEOWULF is a dual body, amphibious vehicle with well-proven technology that is designed to provide total operational support where other vehicles cannot. In addition, the vehicle originating from Sweden is buoyant with a buoyancy aid, has increased mine protection and an ABC system, to ward off nuclear, biological and chemical attacks.

The Austrian BvS10 Mk IIB AUT is also equipped with a remotely controlled WS4 Panther combat module.
BAE Systems Hägglunds has been awarded a contract to manufacture 32 BvS10 all-terrain articulated armoured vehicles for the Austrian Federal Army. The contract awarded to the Swedish operation of BAE Systems follows a government-to-government arrangement between Austria and Sweden. The acquisition worth around EUR 85 million also includes associated equipment and services.
