ASELSAN unveils GOKTAN strike system at IDEF 2025

Türkiye’s defense electronics leader ASELSAN has introduced its new ground-based precision strike system, GÖKTAN, during the IDEF 2025 defense exhibition.

The system is part of a broader suite of next-generation warfare technologies showcased by the company, aimed at meeting the changing needs of modern armed forces operating across multiple domains.

According to ASELSAN, GÖKTAN is engineered to conduct long-range ground-to-ground strikes with high accuracy under all weather and lighting conditions.

The centerpiece of the system is the TOLUN-S munition — a long-range, all-up-round, ready 250 lb. weapon system capable of being launched from the GÖKTAN ground attack control launcher. ASELSAN says TOLUN-S is integrated with a propulsion unit and uses INS/GNSS guidance to ensure accurate target engagement. Notably, in operational zones under the threat of enemy air defense systems, the weapon offers 360-degree strike capability without requiring an aircraft to approach the target area.

Upon ground launch, the TOLUN-S munition separates from its propulsion system once it reaches an optimal altitude. It then follows a sequence of pre-planned waypoints, striking its target with precision at the designated impact angle. The configuration is designed to minimize risk to crew and maximize mission success in complex threat environments.

ASELSAN noted that GÖKTAN is designed for integration with multiple platforms, providing operational flexibility and enhancing combat effectiveness in both mobile and fixed configurations.

The company says GÖKTAN is designed to be easily maintained and rapidly deployed, meeting the time-sensitive demands of today’s combat scenarios.
