The Dingo ambulance will change somewhat in the near future.
The vehicles retain the same appearance, but the division and use of the sanitary cell have been carefully studied and adapted. Captain Steffi De Rooze of the Directorate General Material Resources briefly presented some new features: “The operational concept has changed. Focusing previously on patient transport, the emphasis today is on care and stabilization of their condition. For this reason, and as an example, the left stretcher has been replaced by a storage space. A flexible cabinet can store equipment. Certain medicines must be kept at temperature, the installation includes a refrigerator as well as a heat drawer, etc. ”
One of the most important tasks of paramedics on the battlefield, is to recover wounded soldiers as quickly as possible, ensuring first aid treatment and the following corresponding medical care. Under enemy fire, they often risk their own lives. In its different ambulance versions, the DINGO 2 makes a vital contribution to the improvement of the protected transport of wounded persons.
In total, ten ambulances will be modified. General Neirinckx has already been able to admire the first model. The remaining nine vehicles must be ready by February 2019 at the latest.
