Ukrainian FPV drone strikes Russian attack helicopter

A Ukrainian FPV kamikaze drone has damaged a Russian Mi-28 attack helicopter in the Kursk region on August 6.

The incident marks a significant development in the ongoing war, showcasing the evolving capabilities of drone warfare.

Militarniy, analyzing posts from several Russian military figures on Telegram, including Alexei Zemtsov, who runs the channel “Voivoda Speaks,” reported that the drone struck the helicopter’s tail. According to these sources, the crew survived, and the helicopter made an emergency landing.

The Mi-28, a helicopter designed for locating and destroying armored vehicles, air targets, and enemy personnel, was targeted by the Ukrainian drone in a tactical move demonstrating the increased use of unmanned aerial vehicles in modern warfare.

Additionally, a Russian Ka-52 helicopter was destroyed in a separate incident. The helicopter caught fire after being hit and making a hard landing, resulting in the death of one crew member.
