Ukraine’s 413th “Raid” Separate Unmanned Systems Battalion has released video evidence of a targeted strike on two rare Russian radar systems.
In footage published on June 18, the battalion documented the destruction of two state-of-the-art Russian counter-fire radar systems, the 1K148 “Yastreb-AV.”
The video shows that the first radar system was destroyed by a kamikaze drone strike, while the second was eliminated by precision artillery fire — possibly from a HIMARS system.
Specifications of the 1K148 “Yastreb-AV” remain undisclosed. Its public debut occurred at the “Army-2022” forum. The system’s integration into the Russian Armed Forces commenced recently, with trials likely concluded by the end of 2021 or early 2022.
Mounted on a four-axle BAZ-6910 chassis, the 1K148 “Yastreb-AV” features an antenna station on its rear platform with a large coverage area, marking an advanced addition to the Russian military’s artillery reconnaissance capabilities.

According to Russian sources, the system is designed to:
- Locate enemy artillery or MLRS fire positions upon shell or rocket firing
- Detect missile launch positions
- Adjust and control friendly fire
This is not the first documented loss of a Yastreb-AV radar. In January 2024, Russia reportedly lost a similar system in a previous strike.
