The Saudi-led coalition has deployed the Patriot Air Defense System to Ma’rib Yemen.

The Patriot is a surface-to-air missile (SAM) system and provide 13 countries, including five NATO nations around the globe with a combat proven missile defense architecture that is continuously upgraded to keep ahead of evolving threats.

It can counter threats from tactical ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, drones and advanced aircraft.

Earlier in the deadliest attack against Saudi-led military coalition forces in Yemen, a missile strike on an ammunition dump has killed 45 Emirati troops, 33 Yemeni soldiers and five Bahraini servicemen in the oil-rich Marib province.
