Russian T-90 main battle tank accidentally ‘hit by missile’ during military drill

A Russian Army T-90A main battle tank accidentally ‘hit by anti-tank missile’ during a training exercise.

The training incident was first reported by Topwar.ru.

According to the report, anti-tank missile systems were used during the military exercises, including the Konkurs anti-tank missile system with the 9M113M missiles. One of these missiles accidentally engaged a T-90A tank during gunnery practice injuring a crew member.

The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation has yet to comment on the training incident.

It’s not clear how the “friendly fire” incident took place, but Russian soldiers posted numerous photos on the Telegram online messaging service of a damaged T-90A tank.

In July, a U.S. Army M1 Abrams main battle tank accidentally engaged another tank during gunnery practice.
