Russian military receive upgraded MiG-31BM jets

The United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) has delivered the first batch of MiG-31BM fighter jets to the Russian Ministry of Defense as part of this year’s state defense order, the company announced.

As noted by the company, these aircraft, which have undergone extensive repairs and modernization, have been transferred to their permanent bases following comprehensive ground and flight tests.

The MiG-31BM, known to NATO as Foxhound, is a supersonic interceptor aircraft known for its advanced combat capabilities. The upgrades aim to enhance the aircraft’s performance, ensuring it can effectively address modern combat challenges. The modifications include improved avionics, weapons systems, and radar capabilities, significantly boosting the aircraft’s operational effectiveness.

The MiG-31BM modernization program is designed to extend the service life of the aircraft and improve its ability to perform a wide range of missions.
