The Polish Minister of National Defense, Mariusz Błaszczak, announced the arrival of two new FA-50 light attack aircraft at Warsaw’s Okęcie airbase, marking another significant step in strengthening Poland’s air defense capabilities.
The Defense Minister emphasized that to date, a total of 8 FA-50 aircraft have been delivered, with the expectation of receiving a total of 12 by the end of the year.
The FA-50 fighter aircraft, developed by South Korea, brings advanced technology and capabilities to the Polish Air Force, positioning Poland as a formidable force in the region.
The arrival of these aircraft represents a significant investment in Poland’s defense infrastructure, aligning with the country’s defense modernization efforts and reinforcing its commitment to NATO and regional security. The FA-50, known for its versatility and advanced features, will play a crucial role in safeguarding Polish skies and bolstering national defense.
Poland has signed two contracts in 2022 to buy 48 FA-50 aircraft from South Korea.
According to local media, introducing the FA-50 light combat jet to the Polish Air Force will allow us to fully resign from using the Soviet-era MiG-29 and Su-22 aircraft.
