Mexico and Russia have reached an agreement for Servicio de Protección Federal (SFP) to lease a Gorets-M armoured special purpose vehicle on the KAMAZ-43502 4×4 chassis.
Gorets-M armoured vehicle was delivered from Russia to the Mexican port of Veracruz in October 2016. Servicio de Protección Federal leased Gorets-M for a year for trial operation.
The Gorets-M armored vehicle developed by «OKB Tehnika» and is intended for the transportation of the personnel on the battlefield and protection against bullets and fragments of improvised explosive devices (IED).
It is based on the KAMAZ-43502 4×4 all-terrain truck developed by the KAMAZ company (a subsidiary of the Rostec state corporation). Gorets’ crew cabin and capsule are armored at Level 5 GOST R 50963-96 (Level 1 STANAG 4569, all-round protection against 5.56 mm and 7.62 mm ball bullets at a 30 m distance).
