Lithuania on Monday signed a contract to purchase 88 Boxer infantry fighting vehicles for nearly €386 million, which is the most expensive acquisition in the history of Lithuania’s Armed Forces.A signed contract will be the largest in the history of Lithuania. The decision to buy German armored vehicles was taken at the end of 2015. Lithuania will receive “Boxers” in the armoured personnel carrier, equipped with Israeli combat unit with 30-mm gun Mk.II and anti-tank Spike LR. The new machines will go into service two of the four infantry battalions of the Lithuanian army. As the site says IHS Jane’s 360, the first 14 cars must be delivered before the end of 2017, and the 88 — till the end of 2019.

Lithuanian Boxers will be fitted with the Israeli-made RAFAEL Samson Mk II enhanced survivability multiple weapon stations with 30mm gun and Spike-LR anti-tank missiles .

Canons are able to punch any APC and IFV (not tanks) produced and only planned to produce in whole post-Soviet area while Spike-LR is very well designed to kill T-72 and T-90 tanks.
