Israel has carried out a precision strike on a high-rise residential building in a suburb of Beirut.
The latest attack underscores Israel’s operational policy of targeting Hezbollah-affiliated sites beyond its borders and neutralizing them, despite civilian structures being used as cover.
Footage from the strike, which quickly circulated on social media, shows a precision-guided munition striking the lower floors of a residential building, causing it to collapse in a manner likened to a house of cards.
This highly coordinated attack reportedly utilized a Spice 2000 smart bomb, a weapon known for its precision and effectiveness against fortified or high-value targets.
The Spice weapon system, developed by Israeli defense contractor Rafael, is part of Israel’s inventory of advanced air-to-ground munitions. The Spice family includes four distinct models: Spice 250, Spice 1000, Spice 2000, and the extended-range Spice 250 ER, with each corresponding to the bomb’s weight in pounds. These guided bombs are equipped with electro-optical and GPS guidance systems, allowing for pinpoint accuracy in densely populated areas, reducing collateral damage while hitting designated targets with surgical precision.
The use of Spice 2000 in the strike reflects Israel’s ongoing strategy of eliminating Hezbollah assets, even those shielded by civilian infrastructure.
Similar weaponry was previously used by the Israeli Air Force in Gaza, demonstrating its proven track record in urban combat environments.
