Israel company to supply small caliber ammunition to a European country

IMI Systems will supply a European country with a variety of small-caliber ammunition products for a total of 37 million NIS (approx. $10.5 million).

This is the latest in a line of large-scale orders from IMI’s Small Caliber Ammunition Division over the past years by the USA and several European countries.

Recently IMI Systems began to supply its premium line of small caliber ammunition to commercial distributors throughout the US.  The total of 2016 orders from the US commercial market reached an excess of 230 million NIS.

IMI Systems supplies a wide variety of its small caliber ammo products to the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) – the Division’s major customer – as well as to several local security agencies, all of them with stringent requirements for accuracy, performance and overall quality.

IMI’s Small Caliber Ammunition Division is located in northern Israel. The division’s several hundred employees manufacture a large variety of military grade ammunition including calibers: 9mm, 5.56mm, 7.62mm, .338″ Lapua Magnum and .50″ (12.7mm).

The Division provides ammunition manufactured in accordance with customer requirements – both standard ammo as well as special ammo such as Armor Piercing (AP), Subsonic, Tracer & Incendiary rounds. IMI Corporate VP and Small Caliber Division Managing Director Mr. Israel Shmilovitz explain: “Our special capabilities were developed first and foremost to meet the stringent requirements of the IDF, our ammo field proven, a fact that is respected worldwide”.

The award of this European contract to IMI’s Small Caliber Division strengthens IMI’s position among NATO countries, and again shows IMI’s proven experience in supplying armed forces worldwide with hundreds of millions of military grade cartridges that meet the requirements for accuracy & quality – both of which are essential parameters for receiving new orders – reflect the high rate of our customer satisfaction.

IMI System’s Small Caliber Ammunition Division will showcase at the MILIPOL International Arms Exhibition, to be held this week in Paris, a variety of accurate and qualitative small-caliber ammunition for rifles which was proved in military operational use by the IDF and Special Units, as well as snipers’ ammo for the use of counter-terrorism units and civilian enforcement agencies.
