DIMDEX 2018: Qatar orders additional vessels from Turkey’s Ares Shipyard

The Qatar Coastguard has ordered additional nine vessels developed by ARES Shipyard (ARES) during the Doha International Maritime Defence Exhibition and Conference (DIMDEX 2018) in Qatar.

According to the company’s official, the Qatar Coastguard has ordered nine improved patrol boats and special vessels bringing to 26 the number of ARES Shipyard vessels expected to be operated by the service by 2020.

The total order from the Qatar Coastguard has comprised of three Ares 150 Hercules offshore patrol vessels and six Ares 80 SATs.

Located in Turkey in the Antalya Free Zone, Ares Shipyard has been focussing its new construction work mainly in the military sector with designs up to 100 metres in length.
