BAE Systems unveiled an improved version of the Bradley A3 Fighting Vehicle during visit U.S. Senator Gary Peters of Michigan.

The improved version of Bradley has an upgraded chassis with more underbelly armor to deal with IEDs (improvised explosive device), compartments for fuel and ammunition for greater safety, and more electrical power in anticipation of new technologies. The suspension has been upgraded to allow it to keep up with the US Army’s main armor groups, and there’s an improved turret, tracking sensors, and better connectivity.
“It’s very impressive and certainly the folks to ask about it are marines and soldiers that are in it regularly who know its capacity,” Gary Peters said, after watching the Bradley A3 drive 45 mph around a test track. “The exciting thing about being here is that we are going to be entering into an unprecedented era when it comes to mobility and technology.”
The Bradley M2A3 is being modernized in the coming years with upgraded communications abilities and system performance.
The Bradley vehicle is a combat-proven platform that provides outstanding survivability, mobility and lethality, and it is an integral part of the U.S. Army’s Armored Brigade Combat Team, according to the BAE Systems website.
The Bradley program has undergone several survivability upgrades, including installation of underbelly protection and the Bradley Urban Survivability Kits, which further enhance the safety of one of the most survivable vehicles in the fleet.
