Argentina orders four Israeli Shaldag fast patrol boats

Israel Shipyards in Haifa has been awarded a contract to supply four Shaldag fast patrol boats to theArgentine Coast Guard (Prefectura Naval Argentina).

According to the report of the Government of Argentina, December 15, 2016, the Argentine Ministry of Security (Ministerio de Seguridad) with the agency on arms exports SIBAT Israeli Ministry of Defense contract worth 49 million dollars for the construction for the Argentine Coast Guard (Prefectura Naval Argentina) four Israeli Shaldag fast patrol boats.

The new vessels are to be deployed on rivers for counter-drug missions and for border patrol.

The Shaldag class Fast Patrol Boat is a small but fast class of patrol boats developed for the Israeli Sea Corps (ISC) and launched in 1989, it has since seen service with several other navies.
