UralVagonZavod to unveil new Phlox 120mm self-propelled howitzer

JSC Central Research Institute Burevestnik, part of a corporation “UralVagonZavod” to unveil new Phlox 120mm self-propelled howitzer at II International military and technical forum ARMY-2016 in Russia.

That was reported by the press service of Uralvagonzavod.

The new Phlox is a self-propelled artillery system, which comprises about long-range guns, howitzers, and mortars even. The gun has effective firing range 10,000 m and minimum range: 100 meters. Phlox system is mounted on the Ural-4320 updated series “Motovoz” with two-row armoured cab to the chassis Ural-M.

Phlox is equipped with all the systems needed for independent operation, a cabin to protect the man gun crew against shell fragments and small arms fire, an initial ammunition supply of 28 complete rounds.

Joint Stock Company Central Research Institute Burevestnik engages in the design and manufacture of barreled artillery weapons for the army and navy. It offers defence products, such as shipboard automatic artillery guns, upgraded mortar systems, mortar systems, checking and testing vehicles, barrel bore cleaning units, and upgraded light amphibious tanks. The company also provides production lines for the manufacturing and repair of freight car wheelsets, such as multipurpose platform, platform M1766 for pipe transportation, mobile maintenance systems, and pulse transducers.
