Ukraine’s military receives 43 donated Toyota Land Cruiser field vehicles

The Armed Forces of Ukraine received a batch of new Toyota Land Cruiser J76 4X4 vehicles from the United States through the Foreign Military Assistance Programme.

According to the author of the Ukrainian television project “War technologies” Serhiy Kaminskiy, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have taken delivery of 43 Toyota Land Cruiser vehicles from the US Government.

The Toyota Land Cruiser J76 4X4 designed to operate as low-profile but battle-survivable field vehicles. The 70 Series is a family of Toyota Land Cruiser models produced from 1984 until the present day.

Despite major changes in styling and numerous technological updates, the 70 Series was designed to retain the off-road capabilities and durability for which the 40 Series had become known.

Earlier, the US approved $150 million package in “non-lethal” military aid to Ukraine, which included radar, humvees and the Raven UAVs.

Ukraine is not a member of NATO, but the United States and other NATO allies have backed the nation as it has faced near-constant fighting since Russian troops annexed Crimea. The United States has accused Russia of supplying its own forces and modern weapons in the ongoing war that has killed nearly 10,000 people.
