The first All-Ukrainian forum of private defense enterprises is an important step that strengthens our country’s defense.
This was emphasized by Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksandr Turchynov in his interview with journalists after the opening of the Forum on Thursday in Kyiv.
Mr. Turchynov reminded that cooperation with private sector enterprises started from the first days of confrontation with the aggressor. Secretary of the NSDC of Ukraine stressed that today, on the one hand, a system of cooperation between state defense enterprises and defense sector enterprises is being created, on the other – private enterprises “give impetus to competition”. “As a result, the quality of production is improving, and its price is decreasing”, – Mr. Turchynov noticed. He also called it very important that private companies are actively working on developing advanced models of new military equipment and weapons.
According to him, a significant part of the State Defense Order is executed by private enterprises of the defense industry.
To the NSDC Secretary’s conviction, the cooperation of state and non-state enterprises of the defense complex “will give us new quality, which is possible only on a scientific basis”. “Integration of science into the defense industry is the key to effective results”, – he said adding that Ukraine still has to rely solely on its efforts to re-militarize the country.
“Today, Ukraine is the outpost of Europe, which holds back the advance of the aggressor to the West. Therefore, a strong Ukrainian army, a strong Ukrainian defense complex, is a prerequisite for the security of the whole of Europe”, – Oleksandr Turchynov stated.
Secretary of the NSDC of Ukraine also emphasized the importance of resolving at the legislative level issues of corporatization of state defense enterprises and entry into these enterprises of private capital, both domestic and foreign. “This will be a new quality, a new form, which will provide us with a prospect of development”, – he said.
