Taiwan unveils new XT107 assault rifle

The 205th Armory of the Armament Bureau has showcased a new next-generation assault rifle at the Taipei Aerospace & Defense Technology Exhibition (TADTE 2017).

The new XT107 assault rifle for the 5.56×45mm NATO round is designed to meet the stringent tactical requirements of modern urban warfare, counterterrorism, and close quarters combat.

The 5.56mm XT107 multi-utilization special rifle has superi­or human factor engineering, special mechanism, retractable and foldable stock. The weapon also forgoes the three-round burst firing mode, allowing for a more manageable fully automatic mode at a lower rate of fire.
