Silent mobility: Stryker MCOTM debuts at AUSA 2024

At the annual Association of the United States Army (AUSA) conference, General Dynamics revealed its latest innovation: the Stryker Mission Command on the Move (MCOTM) demonstrator.

Built on a modified Stryker armored vehicle platform, this cutting-edge technology is designed to redefine the command post capabilities of future military operations.

The Stryker MCOTM boasts several key features, including a hybrid-electric drive system, which allows for silent mobility and silent watch capabilities. This system offers a crucial advantage in tactical situations by providing power without drawing attention to its location. The vehicle is equipped with exportable power for supporting additional systems in the field.

One of the most significant upgrades in the Stryker MCOTM is the expanded interior space, achieved by a raised roofline, allowing for more advanced systems integration. The vehicle is designed to support mission command operations while stationary or on the move, giving commanders flexibility in various combat environments. It integrates an Active Protection System (APS) for defense against anti-tank guided missiles and other threats, ensuring the vehicle remains a robust mobile command post.

“Our Mission Command on the Move (MCOTM) concept is designed to allow command posts to hide in plain sight,” General Dynamics stated on its X account, highlighting the innovation’s ability to minimize its electromagnetic signature.

Katalyst Next Generation Electronic Architecture plays a pivotal role in the MCOTM system, ensuring cyber defense measures are in place while providing end-to-end secure communications. Each individual in the command post is equipped with personal communication devices, allowing for seamless and secure communication at all operational levels.

The new Stryker MCOTM demonstrates the future of battlefield command posts—combining mobility, stealth, and advanced communications to create a more resilient and effective military command system.
