Russia to Introduce Six Long-Range Tu-22M3 Backfire Bombers by 2016

The Russian Defense Ministry is expected to receive six modernized long-range Tu-22M3 Backfire bomber-missile carriers by the end of 2015, according to Deputy Defense Minister Yuri Borisov.

KAZAN (Sputnik) – The Russian Defense Ministry will receive six modernized long-range Tu-22M3 Backfire bomber-missile carriers by the end of 2015, Deputy Defense Minister Yuri Borisov said Friday.

“Six planes,” Borisov told RIA Novosti in regard to the number of Tu-22M3’s expected to enter service by the end of the year.
