Russia conducts counter-terrorism operation in Siberian city of Tyumen

Russian special troops conducted counter-terrorism operation in the Siberian city of Tyumen, the largest city and the administrative center of Tyumen region.

On Friday evening, April 12, Interfax reported with reference to the regional department of the Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation of Russia for the Tyumen region.

According to the Information Center of the National Anti-Terrorist Committee (NAC), during the special operation, the law enforcement forces found out an armed group, who opened fire with automatic weapons in response to the proposal to surrender to the authorities.

Also stressed that armed gunmen had been holing up in private houses. The house with was sealed off by Russia’s special forces backed by the National Guard and police, the neighboring households were evacuated.

The operation is conducted in the area of three streets of the city: Novoselov, Magnitogorsk, Lokomotivnaya.

Some followers of the Islamic State terrorist group have been killed in a counterterrorism operation in Tyumen.
