Price negotiations of K9 Vajra-T self-propelled howitzers for Indian Army were successfully concluded

The procurement of 100 K9 Vajra-T self-propelled howitzers (SPH) for the Indian Army has moved one step closer after price negotiations between the Ministry of Defence of India and the local agent Larsen & Toubro (L&T) were successfully concluded. Thar reported by shephardmedia.com.

The K9 Vajra-T will also have K10 which is Ammunition resupply vehicle which also will be procured . idrw.org at L&T booth was informed that howitzer will be indigenised in India and localization share might be in the range of 25-30 % with 14 indigenously developed sub-systems.

The K9 Vajra-T is a Indian license of  K9 Thunder  self-propelled 155 mm howitzer developed by Samsung Techwin for the Republic of Korea Armed Forces.

This self-propelled howitzers are in service with Republic of Korea, Poland, Turkey and Finland in negotiations to aquire used K9 Thunder self-propelled howitzers from South-Korea.
