Pavlo Barbul: Foreign contracts are the source of investments in Ukrainian defence enterprises

As of today, Ukrainian defense companies have an opportunity to attract investments only by concluding contracts with foreign companies or to work with them in the form of joint activity. This was stated by the director of the SFTE “SpetsTechnoExport” Pavlo Barbul to the informational agency Liga.net.

“Thus, our enterprises receive financing for the creation of the necessary weapons and equipment, while investing part of the profit in upgrading production capacities”.

For registration of the joint activity, both Ukrainian and foreign companies register such a format of work in accordance with Ukrainian legislation, and they are not obliged to create a separate legal entity for such purpose. “Ukrainian companies bring into the project their competencies, production capacities, equipment, technologies, and the investor – finances, marketing opportunities”, – explained Pavlo Barbul.
