At least a dozen Oshkosh All-Terrain Mine-Resistance Ambush Protected Vehicles (M-ATVs) have been delivered to Yemeni and are being used in the fighting for the strategically important port city of Aden.
Amateur videos and photographs of the M-ATVs in Aden began to emerge on social media channels on 12 July. One video showed a convoy of 12 M-ATVs fitted with bar armour and operated by ununiformed men. At least some were armed with 14.5 mm KPV heavy machine guns rather than the .50 Browning guns or Mk 19 grenade launchers the type is usually seen carrying.
