Kongsberg marks milestone with 20,000th Remote Weapon Station delivery

Norwegian Kongsberg hitting a major milestone by delivering the 20,000th Remote Weapon Station (RWS) from its PROTECTOR family of products.

The PROTECTOR RWS has been sold to 23 nations including Norway, United States, United Kingdom, France, Germany, Canada, Australia, the Netherlands and Switzerland.

More than 17,000 stations are delivered to United States alone, where unit number 20,000 was a PROTECTOR Low Profile for the Army’s newest version of the M1 Abrams Tank, the M1A2C (SEP v.3).

Kongsberg Protech Systems USA, a business unit of Kongsberg group, has been awarded a contract to provide XM914 (30mmx113mm) remote weapon stations for the Marine Air Defense Integrated System program, according to a company news release.
