The new armored vehicle «Barys» 8×8 is a modern vehicle, which provides superior protection, mobility and firepower. Armored hull provides ballistic protection level 3 STANAG and mine protection is provided at 4a and 4b STANAG.

The joint venture, Kazakhstan Paramount Engineering, was formed last year and will produce three types of vehicles: the mine-resistant armor-protected “Arlan,” the armored police vehicle “Nomad,” and the infantry fighting vehicle “Barys.” (These are local variations of Paramount’s Marauder, Maverick, and Mbombe 8×8, respectively.)
