Israeli Air Force hits Iranian attack helicopters again

The Israeli Ministry of Defense has announced that its air force struck and destroyed three additional Iranian AH-1 Cobra attack helicopters in western Iran.

The strike is the latest in a series of precision attacks on Iranian military assets amid escalating tensions between the two countries.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, the Israeli Defense Ministry said, “The Air Force recently identified and struck three Iranian combat helicopters of the ‘Cobra’ type that were stationed at a military base in the Kermanshah area. These helicopters were intended to target Air Force aircraft operating in Iranian airspace.”

Earlier, the IAF released video footage confirming the destruction of five Iranian AH-1 helicopters at the same base—Kermanshah Air Base—bringing the reported total to eight Iranian helicopters eliminated in a 24-hour period.

According to Israeli officials, the targeted AH-1 helicopters were originally delivered to Iran in the 1970s prior to the Islamic Revolution. Iran’s military later upgraded the fleet to domestically modified Toufan I and Toufan II variants, adapted for indigenous use following decades of international arms embargoes.

Israeli defense forces have conducted operations over Iran for several consecutive days, focusing on preemptive measures to neutralize missile launch platforms, air defense systems, and now, rotary-wing strike assets.
