IAG looks to production of new armoured vehicles in Ukraine

International Armored Group (IAG) has been in discussions with the Ukraine’s state-owned UkrOboronProm concern to produce new armoured vehicles under license in the Ukraine.

Discussions regarding production within the UkrOboronProm took place during the DSEI exhibition in London on 12 September.

The IAG is an armored vehicle manufacturer with over 20 years of experience specializing in the fields of design, engineering, prototyping and manufacturing of armored commercial and tactical vehicles; armored components; and ballistic glass and framing systems, with locations in the United States of America, Canada, United Arab Emirates, Turkey, Bulgaria, United Kingdom, Iraq and Pakistan.

The IAG presented the Guardian Xtreme armoured vehicles at the DSEI. The Guardian Xtreme armoured vehicles are available in 4×4 and 6×6 configuration with standard STANAG Level II blast and ballistic protection including the engine bay. It can be armored up to STANAG Level III protection using add-on light weight armor.

Also, the company to showcase a Jaws Armored Personnel Carrier (APC) at the upcoming Arms and Security-2017 military exhibition in Kyiv, Ukraine.

The Jaws was unveiled for the first time in the United Kingdom at the International Armoured Vehicles (IAV) exhibition and conference in 2013. The IAG Jaws is built on a heavy duty truck chassis, equipped with a powerful turbocharged diesel engine and intelligent AWD system.

The JAWS APC is available in both LHD and RHD, motorized with either a 4.5L V8 twin-turbo diesel engine or 4.6L V8 petrol engine offering up to 300HP, coupled to a six-speed automatic transmission. The Jaws features independent double wishbone front suspension, and beam-type rear suspension, with front and rear shock absorbers with external reservoirs, heavy duty coil springs and reinforced axles. The full time four wheel drive system ensures a high level of mobility in rough terrains.
