The contract has been awarded to the industrial consortium formed by Texelis and KNDS France. The new batch of vehicles will be deployed across various operational units, further enhancing the mobility, protection, and combat capabilities of the armed forces. This order follows previous acquisitions of the Serval, reinforcing its position as a critical component of France’s future armored fleet.

The Serval is part of France’s SCORPION program, a comprehensive initiative aimed at overhauling the French Army’s armored vehicle capabilities. Designed as a light multirole armored vehicle (Véhicule Blindé Multi-Rôles – VBMR), the Serval is built on a modular architecture that allows for multiple configurations. This includes variants dedicated to reconnaissance, command and control, troop transport, and fire support missions.

As part of its integration within the SCORPION ecosystem, the Serval is equipped with advanced digital communications systems, enabling enhanced battlefield connectivity and interoperability with other armored platforms such as the Jaguar and Griffon. The vehicle features a high level of mobility, modular armor protection, and adaptability to varied combat environments, making it an essential asset for the French Army’s rapid deployment forces.
