Iran launches missile strikes on Israel and Saudi Arabia

Key Points
  • Iran launched missile strikes toward Israel with direct impacts reported in central Israel while air-raid sirens activated across Tel Aviv and Haifa and no casualties initially confirmed.
  • Saudi Arabia confirmed separate Iranian missile attacks on its territory, expanding the regional scope of Tehran’s retaliatory operations.

Iran launched a new wave of missile strikes toward Israeli territory, with initial reports indicating that at least two locations in central Israel were directly hit, according to emergency services and regional media.

The strikes triggered air-raid sirens across the Tel Aviv and Haifa areas, where warning systems remained active throughout the morning hours.

Emergency crews were dispatched to the reported impact zones in central Israel shortly after the strikes. Early assessments indicated property damage at two sites, though no casualties had been reported at the time of initial response, according to local emergency services cited by media outlets.

Regional reporting described the missile launches as part of sustained Iranian attacks that had continued since the morning, forcing repeated shelter warnings for civilians in coastal population centers. Sirens were heard across major urban areas, including Tel Aviv and Haifa, prompting temporary disruptions to daily activity as residents sought protection.

According to regional media coverage, Israeli air-defense systems were engaged during the attacks, though officials had not released detailed interception data or confirmed the number of missiles launched. Authorities continued to assess damage while maintaining elevated alert levels nationwide.

The missile strikes followed earlier Iranian attacks targeting Saudi Arabia, expanding the geographic scope of the confrontation. Saudi Arabia’s state-run news agency SPA reported that Riyadh and the Eastern Province were struck during an Iranian attack earlier in the week.

The Saudi government described the strikes as “cowardly,” stating that Iranian authorities were aware the kingdom had “affirmed it would not permit the use of its airspace or territory to target Iran.” The statement underscored Riyadh’s position that it had not participated in offensive operations against Tehran.

“In light of this unjustified aggression, the Kingdom affirms that it will take all necessary measures to defend its security and protect its territory, citizens, and residents, including the option of responding to the aggression,” the Saudi statement said, according to SPA.

This represented the first confirmation from Saudi Arabia that its territory had been hit during Iran’s retaliatory actions linked to ongoing regional military tensions involving Israel and the United States. Officials did not immediately disclose damage assessments or casualty information related to the Saudi strikes.
