Israel strikes Iranian attack helicopters

The Israel Defense Forces say they continue to maintain full air superiority over Iranian territory, targeting military threats and expanding their campaign on multiple fronts.

Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari, the IDF’s chief spokesman, said the Israeli Air Force struck five Iranian helicopters that “tried to hit our aircraft” during ongoing operations inside Iranian airspace.

“We attacked five Iranian combat helicopters that tried to hit our aircraft,” Hagari said in a statement released Wednesday.

He added, “The Air Force has been operating continuously for the sixth day in a row. We will continue to strike anywhere we want to strike in Iran. There is Iranian resistance, but we control the skies and will continue to control them.”

The statement comes as Israeli aircraft carry out airstrikes in what the IDF says are targeted efforts to degrade Iran’s military infrastructure and respond to the escalating regional conflict. Israeli airpower has reportedly reached deep into Iranian territory, with repeated attacks around Tehran, Isfahan, and other key strategic areas.

Rear Admiral Hagari also said that Israel is “operating in seven arenas,” suggesting the current war effort extends well beyond Iran and Gaza. He reaffirmed the government’s broader war aims: “The war objectives have not changed, and we will continue to act forcefully for the return of the hostages and the dismantling of Hamas’ rule.”

Israeli officials have said the air campaign is not aimed at Iranian civilians, but rather at specific military targets tied to Tehran’s support for armed proxies and missile attacks on Israeli territory.

According to the IDF, dozens of Iranian air defense systems have been destroyed since the start of the strikes, and Israel continues to neutralize radar and launch systems used against its jets.
