Early, the Ukrainian government has ordered 55 new multi-role helicopters to be used for a range of police and parapublic operations, Airbus Helicopters announced on the eve of the Farnborough Airshow.

The country signed a contract for the purchase of 21 repurposed H225s, as well as 10 new H145 and 24 H125 platforms to be used by the National Guard, the State Border Guard Service and the National Police. It also includes the setting up of a local training and maintenance centre.

“In Ukraine, we will open the service center “Airbus Helicopters”, we will create additional jobs. Previously, we plan that 15 bases will start operating throughout the country, where our helicopter groups will be located. The key one will be located in the city of Nizhyn, as well as along the borders of Ukraine. But the whole system will work as a single mechanism,” – Arsen Avakov said on October 4, during a working visit to France.

The Minister stressed that the system of aviation security and civil protection of the Ministry of Internal Affairs is extremely complex and requires detailed planning.
