KADEX 2018: Soviet armored vehicle with modern air defence weapon system

The Kazakhstan Aselsan Engineering has unveiled the upgraded version of Soviet-made multi-purpose fully amphibious auxiliary armored tracked vehicle equipped with modern fully automated very short-range air defense weapon system during the V International Exhibition Weapons Systems and Military Equipment «KADEX-2018».

According to the azeridefence.com, the MT-LB multi-purpose armoured vehicle received new missile-IGLA launching system developed by Turkish ASELSAN company.

Missile-Igla Launching System is a fully automated very short range air defense weapon system using IGLA(S) missiles against fixed and rotary wing aircrafts, remotely piloted vehicles, unmanned aerial vehicles and cruise missiles based on qualified ASELSAN PedestalMounted Air Defense System.

The gyro-stabilized turret of the system and integrated optical sensors enable on-the-move target surveillance, detection, tracking, target type recognition and firing.
