Russian Defence Minister visited the Kazan Aviation Factory

The Russian Defence Minister General of the Army Sergei Shoigu has visited the Kazan Aviation Factory named after S. Gorbunov. He inspected the fulfillment of the State Defence Order which included the repairing and modernization of the strategic missile-carrying aircraft Tu-160 and long-range bombers Tu-22M3 as well as building of Tu-214 aircraft of different modifications for the Russian Armed Forces.

During the visit, the head of the military department was informed that the plant was ready for serial production of Tu-160M2 new strategic bombers.

Now the first Tu-160M2 is being built, all the necessary parts are being delivered to the plant.

Earlier, General of the Army Sergei Shoigu had mentioned at the teleconference that special attention was attached to that task.

Having familiarized himself with the advanced technology of mechanical working of titan alloys, the head of the military department paid attention of the leadership of the factory to the fact that both machining and production facilities must be renewed to adjust them in accordance with the tasks.

Sergei Shoigu was also informed that the Kazan Aviation Factory would deliver to the Russian Russian Defence Ministry the second Tu-214ON, which is to be used within the implementation of the Treaty on Open Skies.
