International Defence Exhibition Bratislava IDEB represents an ideal platform for presentation of the defence capability of SR with the emphasis on its long term development including Armed Forces and securing the stability of defence costs. The most modern military technique, equipment for ensuring protection and safety and dynamic samples – all of this is a part of this international event.

For Slovak defence industry representatives IDEB represents a perfect opportunity for presentation and establishing contacts thanks to which they can strengthen their chance at the foreign markets.

The IDEB exhibition is one of the most important events within the defence area in Central Europe. Taking place only once every two years, the current edition happens to be held during period characterized by increased threat of terrorist attack, which leads to the general motion towards searching for new effective solutions for maintaining security.

This years´ IDEB is also important in the context of the historically first Slovak Presidency of the Council of the European Union.

The fair will be ceremonially opened by overflight of MiG 29 and L-39. In case of favourable weather spectators can look forward to skydive of members of the 5th Special Forces Regiment Žilina from L-410 aircraft.

The recent shift in military technology development will be demonstrated at the fair by several novelties. One of them is the world premiere of the armoured vehicle ALIGATOR 4×4 MASTER II, whose production was characteristic due to emphasis to include the largest possible proportion of Slovak production companies.

Another armoured vehicle, the TIGER, is – beside other purposes – used within the Ministry of Defence as a vehicle for special purpose forces and reconnaissance units. The exhibition will also host Slovak premieres of national products of defence industry, the howitzer EVA (“younger sister” of the selfpropelled howitzer ZUZANA 2) and tracked version of artillery techniques called DIANA as a result of Polish – Slovak cooperation in defence industry area.

The exhibition will also offer technology for providing information security such as radio bugs micro detector, micro voice recorder (the size of a paper clip), complex protection against interception, private GSM signal transmitter and much more! The best exhibits registered for competition will be awarded with the Grand Prix IDEB 2016 prize.
