The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has ordered new tactical vehicles developed by Minsk Wheel Tractor Plant, (TM VOLAT®), the Belarusian President announced during a visit to Abu Dhabi.
The talks of Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko with Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan took place in the capital city of the United Arab Emirates.
“Minsk Wheel Tractor Plant realizes the contract for the supply of tactical vehicles in the UAE”, said Alexander Lukashenko.
During July-August VOLAT in cooperation with its UAE agent Al Badie Trading Establishment were taking part in the trials competing with European manufacturers.
For the time of the trials tactical vehicles MZKT-600103 and MZKT-600203 covered a distance over 2000 km on various types of road surface: asphalt, cross-country, sandy and mountainous terrain. The conditions were severe. The hottest period of the year was selected for the trials; sometimes the temperature exceeded 50°C.
Certainly, the most difficult trials stage was the passing sand dunes. The conditions of limited visibility caused by high dustiness demanded that the drivers had the skills of obstacle crossing difficult areas of sand dunes. Vehicles MZKT-600103 and MZKT-600203 showed their maneuverability, mobility and steerability.
Also Minsk Wheel Tractor Plant, (TM VOLAT®), Belarus, and Al Badie Trading Establishment, UAE, signed the Supply Agreement for delivery of the heavy-duty Tank Transporters (total load capacity is 136 t) to the UAE GHQ Armed Forces. VOLAT is launching the new Tank Transporters specially designed for the needs of the UAE GHQ Armed Forces, expanding its worldwide presence and confirming its ability to meet the requirements of the most demanding Customers in the international markets.
The new Volat off-road Tank Transporter consists of 8×8 all-wheel drive prime mover MZKT-741351, semi-trailer MZKT-999421 and trailer MZKT-837211, and is capable to carry up to 3 tracked and wheeled combat vehicles (MBT, BMP-3, Howitzer G6) or 20/40-foot containers up to 130 tons.
