UkrOboronProm announced the reform of the military-industrial complex Ukraine

In the frameworks of the largest International Forum in North America AUSA-2016 SC “UkrOboronProm” (UOP) announced the reform of the military-industrial complex of Ukraine. UOP Director General Roman Romanov represented plans of the State Concern.

“Civilized reform of the defence sector of Ukraine – in accordance with international corporatization standards – is one of the main tasks of the SC” UkrOboronProm”. This will enable development  of a clear modern management structure, in particular – the Supervisory Board, establish common rules for international investors to attract foreign capital and allow it to work for strengthening of the defence capability of Ukraine “, – said Roman Romanov.

Another direction of industry reforming is development of clusters that will bring together core enterprises. In June this year the first cluster – Ukrainian Aircraft Corporation – was created on the basis of the legendary “Antonov”. Due to the law №4809, adopted in July, Ukrainian aircraft enterprises can now establish joint ventures with foreign companies abroad. The Concern hopes that the deputies will adopt relevant legislation for other industries that will enable cooperation with foreigners.

Other clusters will be created soon to bring together public and private enterprises with clear specialization. Each one will have a closed production cycle, will develop new technology and produce new products.

UKROBORONPROM is developing within the frameworks of the strategy “Ukrainian shield,” focused on high-tech production, transition to international standards (NATO) and supplying the army with modern types of armaments. The State Concern extends cooperation with NATO and EU member countries, as defined by the strategic course of the state.

Today “UkrOboronProm” cooperates with more than 300 domestic enterprises.
