Ukraine to unveil BTR-3DA during exhibitions in Poland and Azerbaijan

Ukrainian industrial group UkrOboronProm (UOP) is set to unveil an improved version of its BTR-3 armoured personnel carrier at the MSPO 2018 in Poland from 4-7 September and at the ADEX 2018 exhibition in Azerbaijan from 25-27 September.

The upgraded armoured personnel carrier is called BTR-3DA and equipped with modern water-cooled four strokes 6-cylinder V-engine Deutz BF6M 1015CP and 3200SP transmission by the world’s leading brand Allison.

The new vehicle is faster than previous modifications and is capable of operating in all weather conditions as well as at night.

BTR-3DA is equipped with a combat module “Sturm-M” with a 30-mm automatic gun ZTM-1 with firing rate 330 rounds per minute. The use of the modern digital complex with a laser range finder, as well as a gun stabilizer, it is possible to achieve high precision and angularity of fire in all modes.

In addition, the combat module “Sturm-M” is equipped with a 7.62-mm machine gun and automatic grenade launcher, as well as a complex of guided weapons “Barrier”, which provides armor not less than 800 mm, not taking into account dynamic protection, at the distance of up to 5 km . This allows the BTR-3DA crew to destroy any armored equipment of the enemy.

The BTR-3DA is fully amphibious and propelled in the water by a single water-jet located at the rear of the hull.

Standard equipment of the BTR-3DA includes an overpressure NBC system, night vision equipment and a central tire-pressure regulation system. Commander position has three forward- day periscopes while driver has three forward- and one side-facing day periscope.

The Kyiv Armoured Plant’s designers have made more than 1,000 changes to the BTR-3 to improve its tactical and technical characteristics.
