Germany has committed to supplying Ukraine with 12 additional Panzerhaubitze 2000 self-propelled howitzers, further strengthening Ukraine’s artillery capabilities as the war with Russia continues.
German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius made the announcement during a meeting at Ramstein Air Base in the United States, highlighting the country’s ongoing support for Ukraine.
He explained that six units will be delivered this year, with another six slated for delivery in 2025. These advanced artillery pieces have a range of over 30 kilometers, offering Ukraine enhanced long-range firepower.
Germany has emerged as one of the leading arms suppliers to Ukraine, second only to the United States. Berlin has allocated roughly €28 billion in military support to date, including delivered equipment and future commitments, as it continues to play a vital role in Ukraine’s defense strategy.
