Ukraine aircraft repair plant ”Aviakon” received Certificate of conformity with NATO standards

Ukraine state enterprise “Konotop Aircraft Repair Plant”Aviakon” received Certificate of conformity with NATO standards AQAR 2120. UKROBORONPROM Deputy Director General Volodymyr Kostrytskyy – with the participation of Governor of Sumy Region Mykola Klochko and the Head of  Aerospace sector LLC “Bureau Veritas Certification Ukraine” Oleksandr Karas’ov – handed this document to management of the plant.

“Ukrainian army is to have modern weapons of high-quality. Therefore the State Concern is implementing NATO standards and is working on the quality of production to meet international standards,”- said Volodymyr Kostrytskyy.

According to him, the new technical standards will apply to all stages of the product life cycle, regulating the implementation of management systems and quality assurance – AQAP (Allied Quality Assurance Publications).

Oleksandr Karas’ov explained that the customer receives the possibility to observe the actual process of services provision or product manufacture according to the contract. “Many customers prefer organizations that are certified according to NATO standards, such as AQAP series 2000 “, – he added.

Also, with the help of the NATO Codification System enterprises of the State Concern “UkrOboronProm” have access to the main directory of NATO Logistics (NATO Master Catalogue of References for Logistics) and NATO Quality Assurance Requirements (AQAP 2000) are being implemented. The State Concern takes part in the Smart Defence project– “Harbor Protection.”

In addition, 28 UKROBORONPROM (UOP) enterprises received access to NATO Master Catalogue of References for Logistics and over 60 UOP experts received training on NATO standardization and obtained appropriate certificates.
