UAE media releases photo of HSV-2 Swift it was attacked by a C-802 missile

The wam.ae website has released photos of HSV-2 Swift hybrid catamaran it was attacked by C-802 missile near Bab-el-Mandeb in Yemen.

The HSV-2 Swift is a hybrid catamaran formerly belonged to the United States Navy but then was leased to the the United Arab Emirates Navy.

The ship was operating near the Yemeni port of Mokha located on the northeastern edge of the Mandeb Strait, a narrow and strategic body of water that connects the Red Sea with the Gulf of Aden. Iranian-backed Houthi rebel fighters have claimed responsibility for the attack.

The Saudi-led coalition of Sunni Arab states fighting Houthi rebels in Yemen has largely pushed them out of the southern reaches of the country, but the group is still entrenched in the west, especially along the Red Sea.

The C-802 is the export upgraded version of the Chinese anti-ship missile YJ-82. Iran reportedly possesses 60 of the C-802, deployed in coastal batteries at Qeshm Island. A version of the C-802 is called the Noor.
