Second China Military and Civilian Integration Expo opened in Beijing

The Second China Military and Civilian Integration Expo opened on Monday in Beijing, featuring private companies’ defense technologies. More than 200 Chinese firms took part in the three-day expo, which is organized by the Chinese Institute of Command and Control, at the National Convention Center.

They brought a number of advanced weapons and military equipment to the event, including anti-terrorism robots, vehicle-mounted sonic weapons and unmanned patrol boats.

By now, more than 1,000 Chinese private companies have received permission to develop and produce weapons or other defense equipment, accounting for nearly 40 percent of defense equipment contractors in China, according to the State Administration of Science, Technology and Industry for National Defense.
