Russian Defence Minister General of the Army Sergei Shoigu held a meeting with his Chinese counterpart General Wei Fenghe during his visit to the Vostok 2018 maneuvers at the Tsugol training ground.

Having held the closed meeting, the defense ministers inspected an auxiliary command post of the Eastern Military District, command post of the 29th Army and command post of the PLA combined formation.

According to Sergei Shoigu, the National Centre enables to take decision 24-hours a clock.

“We had some operations when Chief of the General Staff and I supervised and control troops from workplaces in the Centre in real time. And this is not a one-time event. Today it is a comprehensive system in the Russian Armed Forces”, he said.

General of the Army Sergei Shoigu noted that with the establishment of the National Centre for State Defence Control new command and control capabilities were created.

“Most of this at the Tsugol training ground and at the Vostok 2018 maneuvers is control in the National Centre for State Defence Control. More than 250 trains a day were involved in redeployment. And all of this required control”, the Russian Defence Minister said.
