Russia has shown «Sprut-SDM1» new Self-propelled amphibious tank destroyer

Russia has shown «Sprut-SDM1» new Self-propelled amphibious tank destroyer at International Miltary-Technical Forum “ARMY-2015”.

The «Sprut-SDM1» is designed to defeat tanks, hard-skinned material and enemy manpower by airborne and amphibious landing forces, as well as by specially designated units of ground forces. Its main armament, the Sprut anti-tank gun, is capable of firing APFSDS, HE-Frag, HEAT and ATGM ammunition.

«Sprut-SDM1» got a new Belarusian fire control system overlooking commander “Hawkeye” and the new gunner’s sight with thermal channel.

The engine is the V-shaped UTD-29 diesel engine, which produces 500hp
